Cheesehead Rally in solidarity with Wisconsin workers

DFNYC will be joining and supporting this rally in solidarity with Wisconsin workers against union-busting Gov. Scott Walker, who promised to call out the National Guard against striking workers.

In Madison, 30,000 activists protested against Walker on Wednesday. Let’s show our support for workers in Wisconsin, New York, and across the USA!

We’ll gather on 6th Ave. (Ave of the Americas) at 9 a.m. at Time-Life (old CNN) between 50/51. We’ll march past NBC between 49/50. And we’ll end at FOX on the corner of 48th and 6th.

Make your own signs. Wear Packers gear (or just green/yellow) and cheesehead hats (we’ll bring a few to share). Bring your smartphones and cameras to tell the world!

When:  Friday, February 18, 2011 at 9:00 AM

Where: Time-Life (old CNN)
1261 6th Ave
New York, NY 10020

  2. Dear Dems and Sympathetic Workers Everywhere,

As a Wisconsin school teacher who dearly loves her students, (all 470 of them), I am stating that Walker has struck at our basic human rights as workers and citizens. Children should NEVER pay for the political agendas of Government officials.
I can go along with belt tightening and saving by arbitration agreements, but a move that will ultimately hurt our children by slashing teachers’ rights and destroying our jobs is completely unacceptable to me.
Have you thought about the children Mr. Walker?

  3. Thanks you for your voices! You cannot know what this means to Wisconsin teachers – the drive to break up our unions and damage the middle class will destroy this country. We are seen as world leaders who have set the bar high in regard to fairness in the workplace for all people. If things fall apart here, what will happen to the hard-working people across this country and around the globe?

Thanks to you, the message reaches farther and farther – hopefully, it will continue as we all strive to unite as supportive members of the human race!
